wdyt @Philippus , finally time to leave 2.12 users in the lurch, without mission-critical emoji security patches?

One actual use case I have is adding emoji's to an sbt-prompt (https://github.com/Philippus/emoji-clock/tree/main/examples/sbt-prompt). And sbt is still on Scala 2.12. But, probably we can drop it. I don't think lightbend-emoji is due for another release soon. And sbt 2.x will use Scala 3.

@SethTisue you forgot to say java 8. Be a thought leader! It's such a challenge to recruit new contributors under that restriction.
