Overall the technical changes look good. I have not tested them, just looked at he PR.
@feanil the commit message says you are bumping to 7.3.1, but the bump is actually to 8.0.0. What was your intention and what is the standard practice for the other repos? A patch or a major update?

I had initially bumped them a patch version but since we're dropping Python 3.11 support, I realized it should be a major bump so I updated it. I've updated the commit message to reflect the major version bump. |
