Hey! I have no idea what are those tags for and how to use them :) I assume it is something that got added to upstream statsd? |

@sidnei 3rd party replacements for statsd such as Datadog and InfluxDB/telegraf added support for tags, so a number of clients now support it (e.g. aiodogstatsd). statsd itself never got around to adopting tags but there's been some long time discussions of it |

We've added support for our need of metric tags. I don't know if you want to merge as is but I figured it'd be worth bringing to your attention if there's any interest in supporting this.
