Overview

This PR adds the "Supported by Posit" badge to the website.

Background

The "Supported by Posit" badge is a clickable element that can be added to Quarto and pkgdown websites to indicate that Posit, PBC supports the project. It appears on the far right of the top navigation bar or at the bottom of the hamburger menu. It links to Posit’s main website. See https://posit-dev.github.io/supported-by-posit/ for more information.

Changes

  • Added a line to _pkgdown.yml to include the JavaScript file.

Thanks Jeroen! Do I gather correctly that this is a more visible instance of listing Posit's role as funder in the description file? That is reflected in the pkgdown site with a clickable link as well:

@jeroenjanssens is this a widespread effort to add to all our packages across tidyverse etc? Our header is already very cramped with content and as Teun mentions, Posit is already listed as funder

Hi Teun and Thomas,

We've recently started adding this badge across all Posit package websites (not just tidyverse) to create a more cohesive brand presence. @hadley is involved with this initiative.

The badge is currently live on Great Tables, Pointblank, and Quarto.

For the ggplot2 website specifically, I've ensured the badge is hidden below 1200px width to prevent header breakage.
